What is a Newton of Force?

In an impact study done at SUNY Cortland, ComfiHips® outperformed two other leading hip protectors that it was tested against at both 7,500 Newtons and 10,000 Newtons of force.

What does all this mean? Some studies show that the average person falls with a force between 5,000 and 8,000 Newtons. Other studies state that people fall with a much higher force. ComfiHips® pads absorbed the 7,500 Newtons and 10,000 Newtons of force to below the hip fracture threshold.

According to http://www.livescience.com/6040-brute-force-humans-punch.html an expert kick boxer can generate up to 9000 Newtons of force! So imagine a kick boxer giving you his best hit and you don't feel most of the force because you are wearing ComfiHips®! We are saving people's lives by abosrbing most of the impact from a lateral fall.
