Father's Day

This past Sunday was Father's Day, a day that family comes together to celebrate the man of the house. Let's make sure that our fathers do not fall this coming year by giving them tips on balance, education, and staying active.

Balance - Look at your father when he walks, does he have trouble? Try observing how he stands or turns the corner. If he does not look like he is doing this properly, then contact a physical therapist or an occupational therapist to help strengthen his balance so he can walk better.

Education - A fall related injury is the #1 reason why people visit the emergency room in the United States according to the CDC. ComfiHips® is reducing the probability of hip fractures and severe injuries to those who wear them.

Staying Active - As we age, we become more sedentary in our lifestyles. Try getting your father out of the house and do an activity that everyone can enjoy. Putt putt golf, bowling, or going to a park are all great ideas on how to keep our fathers moving.
