Yesterday at the Nurse Leadership Conference, Sue Ann Guildermann gave an exceptional educational lecture about fall prevention. She spoke about how to determine the right hip protector to use by looking at impact studies and user compliance studies.

ComfiHips® amazed every person that came by the booth on Wednesday! Its user compliance study shows that it reduced hip fractures to less than 1/4 of 1% of 818 falls! What is a Newton of Force?

In an impact study done at SUNY Cortland, ComfiHips® outperformed two other leading hip protectors that it was tested against at both 7,500 Newtons and 10,000 Newtons of force.

What does all this mean? Some studies show that the average person falls with a force between 5,000 and 8,000 Newtons. Other studies state that people fall with a much higher force. ComfiHips® pads absorbed the 7,500 Newtons and 10,000 Newtons of force to below the hip fracture threshold.
